Job Summary

Deseret Book Company is looking for a Product Manager who provides administrative and creative support to the Product Directors. The Product Manager is directly involved in the creation, development and management of quality books that meet the needs of our customers. Deseret Book is a media and lifestyle company that caters to members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.


Major Tasks & Responsibilities


Administrative Support for Book Product Directors. Handle administrative needs for Product Directors including, but not limited to: coordinating meetings, drafting documents, tracking deadlines, data entry for financials and contracts, and correspondence to authors.


Creative Support for Book Product Directors. Review, collaborate, research and brainstorm on projects as needed.


Manuscript Review and Management. Manage all manuscript submissions in a timely manner, review selected manuscripts as directed by the Product Directors, and send correspondence to submitting authors.


Required Skills


  • Great team player: works well in a collaborative environment
  • Self-motivated and great self-manager
  • Bachelor’s degree: English, Editing/Publishing, or Communications preferred
  • Proficient with technology: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint; project management and survey software helpful
  • Detail-oriented: manages deadlines and project details well
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
