Job Description

What You Will Be Working On


We are looking for a Product Manager to be the decision maker and owner of our in-flight Next Gen Sales Architecture for the Vivint Technology (VT) Core Engineering team. This newly formed software engineering team’s primary responsibility is to implement core services and applications and drive their reusability across all software development teams within VT. This is a critical role on the technology team that will collaborate with UX, architecture, engineering, and product leaders in the modernization of the technology stack and drive forward our business enablement and growth strategy.


Essential Responsibilities


  • Drive the Vivint Technology core engineering strategy across all software engineering teams within VT
  • Coordinate and prioritize requests from other engineering teams
  • Communicate status updates to stakeholders
  • Work with Program and/or Project Managers to break down requirements into deliverable tasks
  • Track progress, risks, and schedule across projects
  • Collaborate with UX team on experience design for core applications and UI components
  • Work with architecture team on vetting and prototyping potential solutions


Required Skills


  • Ability to craft clear, compelling recommendations and requirements supported by strong analysis and business logic, and articulate them to the organization to gain support
  • Interest in learning to work with SREs on priority of deployment and production environment issues
  • Serve as a "translation layer" between business requirements and the technical details of backlog items
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Strong meeting facilitation, communication, and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate with other Product Managers to improve standards and reusability across systems
  • Adept at problem solving and driving the team toward solutions
  • Ability to communicate high level software architecture concepts to stakeholders
  • Strong negotiation and conflict-resolution skills
  • Must possess critical thinking, problem solving, and decision-making skills


Required Experience


  • Experience using Smartsheet, Jira, Microsoft Office Suite, or other project management software
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle and agile development methodologies
  • 3+ years of software product management experience or in a related field (i.e. program manager, engineering manager, etc.)
