In this position...


Ford Pro Technology is looking for Product Managers that embrace Lean, Agile, and Human Centered Design practices to deliver innovative software products. Product Managers work in small and cross-functional teams. The Product Manager collaborates directly and continuously with Business Partners, Software Engineers and Designers to build, validate, and release software products early and often.


Responsibilities


What you'll do...


  • Mentor and train other PMs to help them learn Agile/XP methods, product management techniques and build skills.
  • Work hands-on with the development team to prioritize, plan, and deliver software that meets requirements.
  • Work with Product Designers to ensure timely delivery of designs and assets to the development team.
  • Collaborate with the product team to define specs, requirements, and acceptance criteria for deliverables.
  • Create assets to guide product development work (Discovery, Framing and Scoping documents, story maps, user stories).
  • Conduct product experiments, user interviews and other validation techniques to gather feedback and product insights
  • Help innovate and iterate on Agile PM processes and share our learnings.
  • Maintain a balance between business viability, user desirability and technical feasibility while delivering software products with a team.
  • Work closely with Business Partners to define the product vision, and break that vision down into an actionable backlog of user stories for the development team.
  • Help Business Partners understand our iterative development approach and our focus on incrementally delivering value through careful and deliberate prioritization.


Qualifications


You'll have...


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering field, Business
  • 1+ years of experience defining product vision, strategy, product roadmaps and building and managing backlogs
  • 3+ years with progressive responsibilities in software development
  • 1+ years working with Agile software methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, eXtreme Programming)

  • Immediate medical, dental, and prescription drug coverage
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others and navigate complex decision-making.
  • Curious about new technologies and exhibits a strong desire to learn.
  • Have exposure to lightweight product development methods such as user story mapping and/ or rapid prototyping
  • Previous success delivering a product to market with an Agile development team, and ongoing development and support of production applications.
  • Experience designing and leading development of cloud native software applications
  • Ability to collaborate well with software engineers, designers, and business partners.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, and the ability to teach others.
  • Practice in Lean/Lean Startup thinking, human-centered product development and Agile Software development
  • Skilled at defining and prioritizing product features.
