Your New Role

Bleacher Report makes it as easy as possible to be a sports fan by defining the moments that matter. Empowering, personal and community driven, its vision for making sports bigger than the game has led to unmatched engagement on social media, where it consistently ranks as the No. 1 digital and social brand. Bleacher Report also provides an industry-leading fan experience on mobile devices through its unparalleled app experience. This year Bleacher Report was ranked as one of the ‘World’s Most Innovative Companies’ by Fast Company.

The role requires excellent written and oral communication skills and be required to manage multiple streams of work simultaneously. The candidate will work across the entire organization.

Your Role Accountabilities

  • Develop and maintain timelines for product launches as well as prepare testing/rehearsals where needed ahead of feature launch
  • Communicate feature launch status to stakeholders and manage expectations where operation is impacted.
  • Identify and manage/partner with third-party vendors, where necessary.
  • Develop ongoing operational product ownership as B/R continues to develop and roll out key new features for fans
  • Work with business, product, engineering, and existing operational teams to tease out operational details and identify challenges before they occur.
  • In this role, early operational requirements may not be well-defined, and depending on various factors, they may change frequently. The successful candidate will maintain flexibility during uncertainty and be able to drive teams through this phase until scope is clearly defined and well understood by all team members.
  • Work closely with the product team to ensure that ongoing features are delivered and that all operational teams are prepared for the feature launch
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve operational considerations that may impact launch

Qualifications & Experiences

  • Leadership skills, with the ability to manage key relationships across the company
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across departments and functions
  • Acumen to communicate the impact of feature or schedule changes to teams that are potentially affected
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to adapt when faced with frequently changing and sometimes ambiguous goals
  • Strong problem solving, expectation management and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in operations
  • Nimble business mind with a focus on developing creative solutions
  • 5+ years of experience in operations or a related field
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for improvement

How We Get Things Done…

This last bit is probably the most important! Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. You can find them at www.wbd.com/guiding-principles/ along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day to day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.
