Job Description

Position Summary

Demonstrates technical and creative proficiency in all product design and development work. Strength of understanding, purpose, and cooperative leadership is displayed clearly through the ability to exhibit technical credibility, to handle complex dispensing closure development, and to participate effectively in a project team environment from concept to production. Demonstrates strong initiative—works well with minimum supervision. Given general objectives, independently plans and executes project work. Utilizes systematic, data-based approaches to problem solving in all activity phases. Verbal and written communications are clear and concise.

Job Elements & Position Responsibilities

· Provide concepts, designs, and detailed CAD models and drawings of dispensing closures and related products.

· Independently develop, prototype, and test product concepts and designs.

· Provide key specification and testing criteria for products.

· Develop test protocols and prove functionality of products.

· Give high attention to detail in following design methods and standards.

· Adhere to documentation standards as required.

· Participate as a key team member or leader in product development projects.

· Procure models, prototype molds and unit tooling, and test fixtures/equipment needed for the complete development of prototype products.

· Develop and provide CAD based, realistic product renderings using suitable software (Keyshot).

· Utilize additive manufacturing to convey product concepts.

· Take part in cross-functional tasks as needed by the project team.

Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline such as Mechanical Engineer, Engineering Mechanics, Plastics Engineering, and Packaging engineering.

· 3-D Solids Computer Aided Design experience - (PTC-CREO preferred, but other CAD experience is valuable)

· Preferred: 2+ years directly equivalent job experience in field of injection molded plastic parts.

Marginal Job Functions

· Supervision of draftsperson or other technicians.

· Experience in working with tooling and equipment suppliers.

· Experience and willingness to work with production personnel to assure production capabilities and to do problem solving.

· Be able to communicate technical concepts to others in non-technical roles.

Non-Mandatory Job Qualifications (Not absolutely required, but enhance chance for success)

· First level supervisory experience.

· General project management experience.

· Experience in managing projects for outside customers.

· Injection molded part design experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $68,000.00 - $74,000.00 per year
