Job Description
Cypress Semiconductor Corporation is seeking a Product Engineering Manager (San Jose, CA) to lead the release of Type-C USB devices to production including quality, cost and yield improvement. Qualify backup sites for fabrication, sort, assembly, test and finish processes. Serve as Lead Product Engineer for customer complaint cases.
Cypress Semiconductor Corporation is seeking a Product Engineering Manager (San Jose, CA) to lead the release of Type-C USB devices to production including quality, cost and yield improvement. Qualify backup sites for fabrication, sort, assembly, test and finish processes. Serve as Lead Product Engineer for customer complaint cases. Lead bench & ATE char automation initiatives impacting the qualification and customer failure analysis productivity for Type-C USB products across Infineon. Work with Design and Test engineers on correlation on ATE and Simulation environments. Interact closely with Test, Design, Apps and Char Engineers across sites. Direct and drive cross functional teams including product qualification, yield, test, characterization, package development and failure analysis. Drive bench hardware and firmware development to debug customer failures. Drive reliability qualification testing. Lead customer returns analysis and root cause corrective actions. Improve Automated Test Equipment (ATE) and bench capabilities for customer returns analysis across all Infineon sites. Drive a cross functional team (Design, Technology, Applications, Packaging, Test, Failure Analysis Engineers) for root case investigation and corrective action for qualification, yield, quality and customer failures. Generate plan and lead backup sites qualification for Type-C USB products. Analyze product yield and quality trends then develop improvement plan. Manage resources for efficient product sustaining and cost/quality improvements. 5% domestic travel and 5% international travel required. Part-time local telecommuting permitted up to 2 days per week.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field and
2 years of experience in product engineering, yield improvement and customer electrical failure analysis for mixed signal products. Must have the following experience: Type-C and USB 1.0/2.0/3.0 device applications and test methodology; Digital and analog circuits, device physics and IC fabrication processes (Wafer Probe, Package Assembly & Test, Burn-In, System Level Tests); Failure analysis, and electrical fault isolation and defect characterization tools and techniques such as the following: ATE, curve trace, micro-probing, light emission microscopy, CSAM, XRAY, FIB, SEM and deprocessing techniques; Reliability testing, product qualification, yield analysis, product characterization and yield improvement; Wafer level chip scale package technology FA methodology; Statistical and Pareto analysis to drive product performance improvements; and Analyzing customer returns towards root cause identification and drive necessary containment, corrective and preventive actions. The role will pay between $171,324.45 to $188,456.89 /year for qualified candidate, the amount you are offered will be based on your qualifications and experience as they relate to the specific role you are performing.
