Summary
The New Plant Projects Procurement Engineer is responsible for developing and executing Procurement Packages in support of GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy’s nuclear power plant business. In this role, you will support new plant project procurement efforts throughout the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) lifecycle of new and advanced nuclear projects.As a GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy (GEH) Procurement Lead, you will work cross-functionally in close partnership GEH business teams to execute on key sourcing operations and project deliverables.
Essential Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Point of contact for supplier technical, quality, manufacturing questions and issue resolution
- Perform other relevant duties as assigned
- Send Procurement Packages and associated documents to suppliers for RFx and orders
- Work closely with Sourcing and Quality leaders to manage supplier performance
- Work with Sourcing Commodity Leaders to develop work plans and Sourcing schedule activities
- Point of contact for GEH teams to interface with the supplier
- Support Lean culture by working cross functionally to improve purchasing process and supporting systems
- Overall responsibility for Procurement Packages spanning the entire EPC lifecycle of new build projects
- Work with Project Engineers and Schedulers to include activities into project schedule
- Serve as the lead supplier interface through testing, inspection, and delivery to site
- Work closely with Engineering and Quality to develop Procurement Packages
- Provide key procurement process interface with Engineering, Quality, Sourcing, Suppliers, Projects, Logistics, Commercial, Construction and Site personnel
- Oversee supplier schedule and progress updates
- Facilitate coordination to input and harmonize supplier schedule and project construction schedule
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited college, university, with a minimum of five years of experience in sourcing, project management, commercial, engineering, manufacturing, or quality discipline in a highly technical and/or highly regulated industry, OR High school diploma and 10 years of experience in procurement engineering (or closely related field) in a highly technical and/or highly regulated industry.
Eligibility Requirements
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time as required; remote workers may require additional travel.
- Ability to work onsite in Wilmington, NC; remote options are available.
- Must be wiling to work during standard Eastern Standard Time (EST) Zone working hours

- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

The salary range for this position is $76 -102k. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.
