Compensation:

Staff Analyst Trainee II (OA):     $55,001 - 61,111

Staff Analyst Trainee II (TA):      $49,864 - $55,406  (New Hire Rate: $43,361)

 
Staff Analyst Trainee I (OA):       $50,924 - $53,980

Staff Analyst Trainee I (TA):        $46,171 - $48,938   (New Hire Rate: $40,149)

Responsibilities:

Unger general direction, the trainee is  responsible for assissting the analyst in performing quantitative analyses of contractors' proposed prices and negotiating prices with contractors. The incumbent will be trained in preparing cost and price analyses; detailed analyses of contractors price and cost proposals. The selected candidate will help formulate negotiation positions; negotiate prices for sole source contracts, contract modifications, construction change orders and other procurement actions; communicates; prepares written narrative summarizing negotiations and corresponding results. Performs other analyses as required.

Education and Experience:

Staff Analyst Trainee I-II
1. For Appointment to Salary Step 1:
A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college.
2. For Appointment to Salary Step 2:
Completion of 1 year of satisfactory service at Step 1.
Desired Skills:

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills. 
• Experience in cost analysis, construction or negotiations is desired but not necessary.
• Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 

Selection Method:

Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience, and interview.

All appointments, with the exception of the Department of Subways employees on MaBSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
