Description of Job


The Print Production Graphic Designer will be the gatekeeper for files coming into customer service at Integrated Document Solutions for print. Along with pre-press production responsibilities, this position will be assigned design jobs such as stationary, brochures, annual reports, large format projects and much more. The position designs and produces visual communication materials with industry-standard publishing and graphic design software using Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, QuarkXPress, Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, etc.) on an Apple Macintosh workstation in a cross-platform environment. Intermediate-level role will work independently on specific phases of professional Graphic Design assignments. Focus will be on finding practical solutions to complex problems using established design standards, guidelines and best industry practices to achieve successful outcomes for state clients. IN this role, the position is operational production, making decisions within defined processes, using reasoning to navigate variability in a variety of aspects. Position must involve understanding technical information for practical solutions, often with established processes, but creative judgment guides the design process. The position is an individual contributor helping to explain processes, base level training, and guiding others within collaborative problem solving when needed.


Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions Of Employment & Appeal Rights

Minimum Qualifications


  • Experience only:


At least three years experience in an occupational field related to designing and producing visual communication materials which must include a high level of proficiency in Graphics Design software applications


OR


  • Education and Experience:


At least an Associate's degree from an accredited institution in a field of study related to the work assignment AND at least one year of experience in an occupational field related to designing and producing visual communication materials which must include a high level of proficiency in Graphics Design software applications; Additional appropriate experience will substitute for the degree requirement on a year-for-year basis.


The exceptional candidate will possess the proven ability or accomplishment in the following preferred qualifications:


  • Demonstrated ability in Adobe Creative Suite
  • The knowledge and skillset to set up files for accessibility.
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service
  • Previous State Service related to the work assigned to the position
  • Experience in a Production environment
  • Experience with Avanti job management system.


Conditions Of Employment
