Job Title: Middle School Principal
Wage/Hour Status: Exempt

SUMMARY:
Donna ISD is seeking an innovative, instructional leader to serve as the campus principal. Responsible for the implementation and evaluation of all instructional and programmatic activities. Work with district personnel to ensure that instructional programs result in high academic achievement for all students. The ideal candidates will demonstrate their experience and knowledge in dual language education and in the design, integration, and implementation of systems to improve student results, as well as knowledge of curriculum, instructional practices, school improvement, social-emotional learning and supports, wellness and leadership development.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises and evaluates the performance of staff assigned to campus including assistant principal(s), teacher(s), counselor(s), librarian(s), instructional assistants, clerical support staff, and custodians.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Three years’ experience as a classroom teacher Three years’ experience in administrative leadership
Three years’ experience as a campus principal preferred
Fully certified

Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Instructional Management
- Monitor instructional and managerial processes to ensure that program activities are related to program outcomes and use findings to take corrective

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Occasional absences are understood but regular attendance is required.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Light to moderate lifting is required. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and depth perception.
This position requires meeting deadlines with severe time constraints, interacting with the public and staff, and enduring irregular or extended work hours.
The demands of extended work days (coverage of building activities and extra-curricular activities, etc.) requires a high level of physical endurance. This job requires the ability to handle and balance multiple demands at the same time.
