Principal Devops Engineer Jobs

As our Principal DevOps Engineer position, you'll be reporting directly to our Director, Digital eCommerce Architecture. In this role, you will lead a team of digital operations engineers to deliver a high-powered, cutting-edge web-based application to support the rapid growth of our Global Platform running on Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C (Demandware). You will collaborate with product owners/managers, vendors, platform engineers, and business stakeholder’s to develop and create enterprise-level web applications that are both scalable and robust. The ideal candidate will be a strong leader with extensive hands-on experience with DevOps and has the ability to work in a fast-paced agile environment.

Responsibilities:

• Act as a technical liaison between clients, service engineering teams, and support.
• Must be a part of large global scale production-grade implementation and deployments.
• Serve as a systems and automation evangelist providing thought leadership.
• Being hands-on with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo
• Collaborate with the product owner and business stakeholders to define feature requirements and set priorities.
• Collaborate with architects within cross-functional teams to discuss long-term technology strategy and provide objective information and data to help inform and drive critical technology decisions.
• Eliminate impediments to allow the development team to focus on their task.
• Implement, maintain, and improve Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery environments.
• Extensive hands-on experience on evaluate and tune site performance.
• Mentor team members to ensure they have the necessary skills to perform their jobs and develop their careers.
• Act as a subject matter expert on DevOps best practices with infrastructure as code, scaling and configuration management.
• Build, deploy, and optimize processes on Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C (Demandware).
• Collaborate with the security team to implement the work items recommended by the security team.
• Creates technical and procedural documentation.

Experience Requirements:

• Extensive hands-on experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or Bamboo
• Experience working in and deploying in Cloud Environments
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5
• Expertise with server-side development and OOP languages/frameworks (Python, Java, Golang, Node.js, Ruby, PHP, C#, C++, etc.).
• Experience and working knowledge of secure development practices
• Deep Knowledge of Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C build and deploy process.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Advanced experience with Git source control and collaboration tool such as JIRA, Confluence, Slack
• Experience with web frameworks, interactive web development, responsive web design
• 7-10+ years of professional DevOps experience
• B.S. in Computer Science or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bamboo, Hudson, Ansible, Chef, Travis CI and/or Gitlab CI) and implementing best practices
• Experience with site speed optimization
• At least 3+ years of development management experience
• Experience agile development methodology

Nice to have skills:

• Certifications in Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C.
• Expertise with AWS cloud services and technologies
