The President/CEO of Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has a unique opportunity to build a shared vision for the future, while fostering a cohesive culture for a top ten tourist destination in the United States. A trip to Branson, Missouri offers something for everyone, whether it be enjoying the beautiful Ozark outdoors or the many entertainment options and attractions. Welcoming over 9 million visitors per year, this position offers the skilled leader a highly collaborative role accountable for inspiring long-term growth and prosperity for the Branson Tri-Lakes area businesses and residents.
Responsibilities
- Partners closely with Branson City Government, the Tourism Community Enhancement District, and other stakeholders to create a shared vision for marketing the community while ensuring responsiveness to their needs and respect for differing views.
- Acting as the public face of the organization, the President & CEO is responsible for the Chamber and CVB's public image, which includes communicating the purpose and message(s) of each division of the organization to the public.
- Oversees the organization's finances and management of resources, including by planning the budget, allocating resources towards strategic initiatives, and overseeing expenditures.
- Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with political and governmental agencies, businesses, and organizations, advocating for the interests of the Chamber and the Branson community.
- Performs other duties as required by the organization.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships and an open dialogue with the Chairman of the Board, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors.
- Fosters an organizational culture of mutual respect, creativity, and shared decision-making.
Other Necessary Functions:
- If operating a motor vehicle while on company business, job incumbents must possess a current Motor Vehicle Operator's License and maintain proper personal insurance coverage.
- Since this position will regularly have access to confidential trade and economic information, a non-disclosure, confidentiality agreement is required.
- Attends workshops, seminars, and conferences for professional development as necessary.
- Regular out-of-town travel may be required.
Technical Experience: A minimum of five years of executive level experience at a scale that demonstrates the ability to effectively manage an organization with 30+ employees, an annual budget of over $13 million, and 850 member businesses. Previous experience working with multiple stakeholder groups, especially including local political officials, is preferred.
Required Education and Certifications:
The position requires a bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, or a related field. Equivalent experience, education, and training may be considered as a degree substitute. An advanced degree in a related field is preferred, but not required.
Destination Management Executive certification or equivalent industry credential preferred.

- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to persuade, challenge, and inspire.
- Ability to collaborate, build consensus and resolve conflict between various governmental organizations and businesses to create a shared vision for the economic growth of the community and the prosperity of its residents.
- Proven financial/fiscal acumen related to strategic plans
- High standards of personal character, including the ability to lead with confidence, humility, transparency, and integrity.
- Familiarity with the Branson area, including knowledge of and respect for the unique culture of the Ozarks region and its residents.
