Job Description

The President is responsible for the leadership and oversight of Maur Hill - Mount Academy, working under the direction of the Board of Directors in implementing the strategic goals and objectives of the school.

• The President’s highest priority is to successfully implement the school’s strategic plan. This involves sound fiscal management of the school, leading the Development Program, and acting as the ambassador of the school to its constituents and the general public.

• The President must support the Benedictine, Catholic identity of MH - MA respecting and including other faith traditions.

• Supported by the Principal, the President is charged with sustaining the academic reputation of the school and strengthening relationships within the community.

• The President oversees the Development Program and maintains frequent contact with the school’s alumni and benefactors to achieve the Development Program goals and objectives.

• The President supports the Director of Admission in strengthening and expanding relationships and network in the school’s key international and domestic recruiting markets.

• The President is expected to support the Guidance Counselor in fostering and facilitating relationships within the field of college admissions directors of schools to which MH - MA students apply.


The President is responsible for the overall leadership of the school and is specifically charged with the following:

Benedictine & Catholic Identity

• Lead students, staff, and families to grow in the Catholic faith daily.


Organizational Leadership

• Establish and maintain internal communication structures.

• Establish direction and prioritization for the Administrative Team.

• Update and inform the Board of Directors through regular communication and updates regarding emerging needs of the school.


Academic Excellence

• With the support of the Principal, retain and attract high quality faculty and staff critical to creating an environment of academic excellence.

• Demonstrate institutional and educational leadership.

• Develop and review school policies and procedures.

• Coordinate resources and personnel to exceed accreditation standards.


Mission Advancement (Development) Program

• Represent the organization to the public and the school’s many constituents (benefactors, alumni, parents, clergy, agents, domestic and international parishes, etc.).

• Ensure fundraising objectives, including endowment, annual giving, and capital initiatives, are achieved to meet the present and future needs of the school.

• Maintain positive relationships with the community, the alumni, and foundation boards.

• Develop and implement the Strategic Plan 2028.


Financial Performance

• Oversee all business operations, finances, and development of the annual budget.

• Oversee financial operations for school expenses and personnel.


Personnel and Facilities Management

• Manage the Administrative Team.

• Assume responsibility for the supervision, evaluation, and professional development of all personnel under his/her direction.


Recruitment

• Support the Director of Admission in maintaining and expanding domestic and international recruiting networks. Ex Missions

• Support the Guidance Counselor and Alumni Director in strengthening and expanding the quality and breadth of institutions to which MH - MA students gain college admittance.


Qualifications & Skills

• A practicing Catholic who is passionate about Catholic Schools and adept at explaining benefits of a Catholic Education.

• Strong marketing skills to successfully promote MH - MA with prospective parents, benefactors, alumni, and college admissions directors.

• Master’s degree in education, business, or related field.

• Minimum of five years’ experience in a leadership role in education, business, or related field.

• Strategic planning experience and execution capabilities.

• Excellent leadership and management skills with a track record of building and maintaining strong teams.

• Ability to analyze issues and balance fact-based analysis with intuition, information, and experience.

• Strong communication skills to exchange information clearly and concisely and deliver concepts, opinions, and ideas in a professional manner.

• Demonstrate patience and composure; adapt quickly and resourcefully to all situations.

• Proven fundraising and/or revenue generating success.

• Travel: Periodic overnight/international travel.

• Salary: Depending on Qualifications and Experience. Comprehensive paid benefit program.
