The Picnic Basket is our bustling beachfront cafe located near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. We are dedicated to simple, delicious food and treats, with ingredients sourced from local farmers, foragers and food artisans! We are looking for people who believe in our mission of making quality food for the public and delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The Prep Cook position is responsible for preparing various food and drink items at our commissary kitchen located off-site within Santa Cruz County. They maintain a safe, orderly and sanitized workspace at all times. They are committed to consistently upholding our high standards of excellence in product quality and portion control to ensure a perfect guest experience.

Requirements

• Demonstrated ability to be proactive and work autonomously
• Available for 16 hours a week on a reliable basis
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
• Experience in high volume food preparation is preferable
• Demonstrated attention to detail and organization
• Desire to learn more about locally sourced food and sustainable business
• Available to be flexible with scheduling needs

The Picnic Basket currently requires all staff to be fully vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19. Federal law allows for medical and/or religious exemptions under a limited set of circumstances.
