Job Summary


This position is responsible for ongoing analysis and reporting of warranty claim activity for the Product Quality Assurance department and NNA-S. This involves evaluating, reporting, tracking, and monitoring claim incident rates and trends. Contributes to building value, profitable growth, and customer trust within the brand.


Job Function


The following job function statements describe the general nature and level of work being performed.   • Become subject matter expert on our internal quality system, INSPECT. Be able to make running changes, manage projects with vendor, etc. Prioritize plant focus of warranty claims by claim count and IQS severity (JD Powers, Consumer Reports, etc.) for Warranty engineering team and manufacturing. Help run tracking lists for Domestic and/or Export market teams. Track containment effectiveness through internal and external metric evaluation.
  • Support specialists and analysts within PQA. Kaizen warranty processes to increase efficiency and throughput.
  • Must be a self-starter and willing to work under the pressure of deadlines and urgent data requests.
  • Track the resolution progress or each warranty claim from claim submission to containment to countermeasure and validation. Help document performance to key targets.
  • Prepare Monthly Quality Reports for site and regional meetings.
  • Be willing to learn internal plant KPIs such as STR, DPHU, and AVES. Create correlation studies between internal and external KPIs.
  • Develop ability to help identify emerging warranty issues that need immediate containment through the use of the Progress Management Tool (PMT).
  • Be able to work within warranty databases and make minor changes.
  • Help summarize cases for warranty exclusions to reduce the NNA warranty incident rate for non-valid claims.


Minimum Qualifications


The following qualification statements reflect the minimum skills and abilities required of the qualified applicant.


Job Knowledge and Skill:


Effective oral and written communication, problem solving, analytical techniques and interpersonal skills required. Some working understanding automotive claims, policies and procedures, dealership operations and regional functions is desirable but not necessary. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.


  • Experience:


Some experience relating to data and/or statistical analysis is preferred. Project management skills preferred. Ability to adapt to changing priorities and the ability to work with minimal supervision.


  • Education:


Four-year degree in related area or equivalent is preferred. (Two years applicable experience will equal one year of college in lieu of degree).


  • Computer Skills:


Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications - Access, Excel, Word and Powerpoint. Additional PC or mainframe applications to produce non-standard, creative products. Working knowledge of programming languages such as SQL and VBA are preferred.

Must be available to work day shift with occasional overtime if needed for specific projects or emergency situations.
