Power Market Analysis Manager

Perform advanced qualitative and economic analysis for energy storage and power generation projects. The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge of one or more U.S. power markets with fundamental experience in energy modeling.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Perform power market model-based price forecasts and analysis of the evolving power system landscape based on fundamental understanding of power markets and modeling best practices
• Develop and explain optimization and simulation models including power flow, bid evaluation, and integrated resource planning models to help decision-makers and stakeholders understand the economics of wholesale energy markets, renewables integration, grid modernization and regionalization
• Develop and perform energy market modeling and analysis to support renewable generation, battery storage and transmission clients in the U.S. electricity markets
• Develop and maintain production cost model datasets for U.S. power markets

Qualifications:

• Experience using statistical and/or optimization techniques is an advantage
• U.S. electricity market experience and deep understanding of wholesale power market industry
• Production cost simulation / modeling experience should include any of the following: in-house tools, PLEXOS, PROMOD, Aurora, etc.
• Experience with power market analysis, production cost models, nodal analysis (LMP), interconnection studies, etc.
• Experience modeling battery storage technologies is an advantage
• Python, R, C++, SQL, MATLAB programming experience is an advantage
• Experience modeling energy commodities markets (e.g., electricity, power generation and/or renewable energy) is an advantage
