The Global Strategy and Operations (GSO) Division's mission is to build high impact, mission-aligned, strategic partnerships across Dimagi's products & offerings while maintaining highly efficient business, people, and regional operations across Dimagi's divisions.


About The Position


Dimagi is seeking a Portfolio Lead to join its Global Strategy Partnerships (GSP) team. This remote working position is part of Dimagi's Office of the CEO, and will report to the Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships. They will work closely with members of Dimagi's senior leadership team, including Dimagi's CEO, Chief Strategy Officer, Chief of Staff, Global Director of Marketing, and others. This position will be affiliated with our office in Cambridge, MA, but is open to remote employment within the US.


Together with the Senior Director of Partnerships and the Office of the CEO, the Portfolio Lead will be instrumental in realizing Dimagi's Five-Year Strategy (2022-2026), and in supporting Dimagi's vision of creating a world where all people receive the services they need to thrive.


The Portfolio Lead will advance substantial business opportunities and strategic partnerships with priority multilateral organizations, foundations, policy & regulatory bodies, and implementing & technical partners. These projects, which leverage Dimagi's flagship product, CommCare and related product innovations, deliver high-impact digital solutions that amplify Frontline Workers and programs.


The Portfolio Lead will also support thought leadership activities, both directly representing Dimagi, and supporting leadership engagement in public forums to disseminate Dimagi's ideas, new products, and strategies across the global health architecture.


The role will require leadership and autonomy to support a growing portfolio of opportunities. There will be a significant emphasis on relationship building, advocacy, strategic communications, stakeholder coordination, strategy development, and grant writing.


Responsibilities


Independent Key Account Management


  • Serve as the executive key account manager for 3-5 large opportunities with partner organizations (e.g., BMGF, World Bank, Gavi, Rockefeller Foundation, PEPFAR, Global Fund).
  • Provide oversight and manage coordination with operations & delivery teams during project design and implementation phases.
  • Support the Senior Director, GSP to manage emerging opportunities, document progress and challenges, and facilitate internal communications and reporting for core business functions (e.g., key results, project milestones, internal coordination).
  • Provide Portfolio Management support to the GSP team, including managing recurring internal meetings and tracking key team deliverables.
  • Identify and nurture key partnerships, and pursue opportunities to secure revenue generation opportunities (e.g., materials development; proactive outreach and communication; disseminating Dimagi knowledge / value; coordinating, preparing for, and following up on key engagements; project scoping).


Core Business Initiatives


  • Lead market research projects, including analyzing and synthesizing qualitative and quantitative research to identify and present general market trends and strategic challenges.
  • Provide surge support to Global Strategy Partnerships and delivery team members to advance priority opportunities with donors, governments, and implementing partners.
  • Orchestrate ongoing advocacy initiatives with operations, business strategy, and project delivery colleagues to elevate the company's impact and streamline processes (e.g., improving knowledge management, achieving cross-divisional efficiencies, leveraging implementing partner engagements for BD).


Thought Leadership


  • Responsible for developing business development materials, including proposals, slide decks, reports, concept notes, blog posts, in coordination with the Office of the CEO and the Marketing team.
  • Represent Dimagi through innovation-related knowledge sharing forums (e.g., presenting at industry conferences, joining working groups, engaging collaborators).
  • Serve as a critical thought partner in strategizing Dimagi product innovation launches, including strategy development, launch planning, and communication to key leaders, governing bodies, and funders as it takes shape.


Relevant Skills


We are looking for a capable, motivated, and impact-driven team member. As such, please consider the following areas listed to be general "guidelines" vs. strict qualifications:


  • Experience working with major funders and/or multilateral organizations (e.g., Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Children's Investment Fund Foundation, Global Fund for AIDS, TB, and Malaria, the World Bank / Global Finance Facility, Gavi, FIND, END Fund, Rockefeller Foundation, Gavi)
  • 7-10 years of experience in mid-level to senior strategic advocacy and consulting, program management, grant writing, communications, and/or business development role in the social impact space.
  • Deep understanding of the international development space (e.g. multilateral agencies, iNGOs, government agencies, foundations, etc.), and a personal network of industry stakeholders, along with previous experience working alongside or inside one of these organizations.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Have owned a donor account portfolio or secured high-value opportunities (i.e., > US$ 1m, or achieved annual fundraising targets of US$ 2m).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to rapidly iterate with leadership team members on concept notes, slide decks, thought leadership pieces, and enthusiasm for engaging external stakeholders, including delivering presentations to potential funders or at industry conferences.
  • Highly organized and able to multitask, while also maintaining a focus on small details.

  • Comfort using data analysis and visualization tools
  • Graduate-level degree in public health

The estimated salary range for this position is 78,543 - 121,940 USD annually. Your final salary within the range will be dependent on where you are geographically based and might fall outside of this estimated range.
