DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:
  • Supply feedback and recommendations on written documents provided by product leads
  • May lead the writing and conceptualization for a campaign or assignment
  • Contributes feedback to game analysis for product improvements and appropriateness for North American markets
  • Proof-reads and performs writing QA for materials written by other staff members and offers feedback when necessary
  • Presents, demonstrates, and evaluates video games and products to internal and external partners
  • Contributes to development coordination, support, and communication
  • Maintains competitive knowledge of marketplace and provides analytical reports on game market data
  • Supports project-related matters in the delivery of materials, product demos, screen shots, and product/game play information
  • Works with other Nintendo of America (NOA) departments with writing scripts and copy, and demonstrating games
  • Writes, proofs and edits print and online marketing materials, and internal product summaries
  • Responsible for knowing game features, issues, and concerns for the projects in which directly involved
  • May serve as overall Player & Product Experience lead on projects
  • Assist in video and TV commercial work as product expert
  • Generates original and innovative ideas and participate in brainstorm sessions to establish and develop messaging strategy for projects.
  • Writes and edits scripts for videos and presentations; may include Nintendo Direct, trailers and other consumer-facing media and marketing activities
  • Evaluates games for quality and marketability
  • Often necessary to change duties, projects or direction on short notice

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to produce high quality results under tight deadlines
  • Ability to effectively communicate using multiple methods
  • Outstanding grasp of dramatic structure and narrative form
  • Proficient marketing copywriting and copyediting experience preferred
  • Ability to work with highly confidential information
  • Three to five years of experience in creative or marketing writing
  • Strong PC skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word, and MS Teams preferred)
  • Comprehensive historical and up-to-date knowledge of the video game industry for both the home and mobile markets helpful
  • Good game play skills and the ability to identify and communicate key selling points and marketing opportunities
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong knowledge of Nintendo IP and gameplay
  • Scriptwriting/Screenwriting, Marketing writing, or equivalent
  • Undergraduate degree in English, Creative Writing, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent
  • Strong scriptwriting and copywriting skills in print, web, video and other media
  • Acute attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to maintain a heavy workload on an ongoing basis
  • Valid passport may be required for international travel

This position includes a base pay range of $35.67- $53.51 per hour, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
