Summary
Role Summary/Purpose
The Plant Manager is responsible for developing a vision and leading plant-manufacturing operations around GE Healthcare imperatives, and meeting all operational defined targets such as safety, quality, delivery, cost and people. Perform the daily operations of plants to ensure reliability and consistency on the production line. The incumbent should be able to influence and communicate well with all levels of the organization, including senior leadership. High levels of operational judgment are required to achieve outcomes required.
Essential Responsibilities
- Interprets internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
- Manage an overall production facility in order to reach defined targets in safety, quality, delivery and cost. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards. Team management of salaried employees.
- Manages a team with senior and front-line professionals with deep domain operational and technical expertise as well as others. Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
- Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
- Drive a culture that ensures outstanding compliance and adherence to product quality in all areas for the Quality Management System in GEHC. Ensure that the organizational design, functional expertise, and manufacturing process experience of the team is positioned for excellence.
- May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
Quality Specific Goals:
- Ensures the creation of accurate, complete, and timely records and DHRs
- Aware of and comply with the GEHC Quality Manual, Quality Management System, Quality Management Policy, Quality Goals, and applicable laws and regulations as they apply to this job type/position
- Knowledge and understanding of production process Work Instructions and operates within them to ensure that a device conforms to its specifications
- Complete all planned Quality & Compliance training within the defined deadlines
- Identify and report any quality or compliance concerns and take immediate corrective action as required
Qualifications/Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 10 years of experience in Job Family Group(s)/Function(s)).
- Proven business/financial acumen, including demonstrated ability to motivate, influence, solve complex problems, and drive change at all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated leadership, energizing global teams, and global project management
- Proven ability to drive and manage change initiatives in a matrix environment
- 7 years’ experience with proven leadership in operations or supply chain, engineering, logistics/distribution
- Ability to successfully motivate, and maintain high moral, employee involvement, safety, and teamwork
- Lean proficient with demonstrated ability to apply tools and process rigor
