Piping Designer Jobs

Gulf States Engineering, Inc. is a multidiscipline engineering firm with a wide variety of experience in heavy industrial, commercial, and government projects.

Duties:

· Perform design from concept to implementation

· Perform research to back up design

· Perform engineering documentation

· Perform other items as directed by a senior engineer or discipline lead

Responsibilities:

· Ensure project documents are accurately prepared

· Have extensive knowledge of common software programs

· Organizing and maintaining existing engineering records

· Ensure design components adhere to applicable industry standards

· Ensure work product is checked/approved by a senior engineer or discipline lead

· Ensure work product meets project requirements

· Ensure work is completed on or before scheduled milestones including coordination and approvals

· Ensure work is completed within assigned budgets

· Attention to detail

· Mentoring designers and drafters

· Relay apparent training needs to department manager

Qualifications:

Requires 10+ years of experience as a Designer or related position. An associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience:

Experience must include the following: 10 years of experience as a Designer in a manufacturing industry; experience designing and developing drawings for complex equipment foundations and steel framing; experience performing interference checks and coordinating drawings with other disciplines; knowledge of applicable Building Codes (IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC); proficient with AutoCad and Excel.
