Physician Assistant - Telemedicine Transgender
$135,144 - $161,700 Annual Range

California Correctional Health Care Services (CCHCS) is seeking a Physician Assistant to evaluate and co-manage clinically complex patients, including those identifying as transgender within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations’ (CDCR) correctional institutions.

All physician assistants (PAs) with CCHCS must have current board certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).

Situated in the heart of Southern California’s Orange County, Santa Ana is a bustling community with a rich history and diverse population. Santa Ana has an artsy, cultural identity hidden in plain sight. Stroll through the walkable downtown and explore the many fun-and-funky theaters, cafés, boutiques, and galleries; revisit the whimsy and magic of childhood at nearby Disneyland and Knott’s Berry Farm; or relax and soak up that Southern California sun on one of Orange County’s pristine beaches.
Under the general direction of the Chief Physician and Surgeon, you will:
  • Provide consultation services to primary care providers by developing treatment plans to assist in the implementation of policies and programs that promote a safe, respectful, and rehabilitative environment for the transgender, non-binary, and intersex community
  • Travel to CDCR correctional institutions throughout California
  • Participate in program development and implementation activities, including statewide quality improvement efforts
  • Evaluate and treat transgender patients via remote video signaling and support appropriate access to transgender health care
