In our tireless pursuit of high-quality, highly affordable healthcare for all, DocGo makes the impossible possible. We are revolutionizing the delivery of healthcare and we need Physician Assistants to join us.

JOB DESCRIPTION
DocGo provides a unique opportunity for Physician Assistants to practice up to their scope independently while simultaneously providing physician led clinical support when needed. We value the quality care Physician Assistants provide and are dedicated to their professional development. You will be part of the DocGo team and earn equity in our company while enhancing the lives of underserved populations. You will be providing DocGo services in New York, New Jersey, and California, to name a few, to administer state of the art care for a wide variety of populations, including people experiencing homelessness, asylum seekers, and the public.

This means you will provide care for adult and pediatric patients facing chronic and complex conditions (e.g., co-morbid medical and mental health diagnoses, limited personal resources, chronic medical conditions.) You will perform histories, physical exams and prescribe diagnostics as needed. As a result, the ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing treatment plans given the patient’s goals of care and current conditions. This will include screening for chronic conditions, management of substance use disorders, provision of vaccinations, wound care and much more.

In addition, you will optimize resources for desired outcomes consistent with state regulations, clinical standards and DocGo policy.
  • An essential element of the role is the ability to meet the patient’s medical and psychosocial needs.
  • You will be supported by the DocGo team including administrative support and medical collaboration direction, which provides our NP’s and PA’s clinical and non-clinical administrative support.
  • Our PAs perform assessments and provide treatment for patients facing substantial barriers to accessing the traditional healthcare system.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Demonstrate passion for the purpose of serving underrepresented populations.
  • Diagnose and prescribe appropriate anti-infectives as per the most up-to-date guidelines and DocGo policy.
  • Consult patients in mobile units as well as in brick-and-mortar locations.
  • Provide care with cultural sensitivity and compassion while prioritizing customer service.
  • Each day, you will maintain patient medical records and medical documentation consistent with state regulations, DocGo standards, and policy through our HealthPoint system as well as Athena EMR System
  • Interview and examine patients to formulate a diagnosis.
  • Suggest lifestyle changes to remedy medical problems.
  • Order and administer vaccines to those eligible.
  • Prescribe medication as permitted by your state prescribing authority.
  • Be a team player and a mentor.
  • Strive to be a clinical leader particularly in an ever-changing fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in continuing education as required by the state where you are licensed.
  • Order tests to assess the nature and extent of illnesses and injuries.
  • Participate in professional activities including development of a clinical ladder and future APP DocGo councils.
