This is a continuous recruitment which will be used to establish an ongoing eligibility list for future hiring purposes.
BASIC FUNCTION:
The Physical Therapy Specialist provides assessment, consultation, and direct physical therapy to students enrolled in or referred to special education programs; collaborate with general and special education staff and parents to identify strategies, methods, and patterns of instructional support.
POSITION SCHEDULE:
Positions typically work 10 months (206 days) or 11 months (226 days) per year. The salary is based on an 8-hour workday, 11 months, 12 pay schedule. The salary will be adjusted per actual hours worked.
The Physical Therapy Specialist will be paid on the OTBS Salary Schedule. Grade: 063

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A combination of training, experience, and/or education equivalent to graduation from an approved school of physical therapy and California license as a Physical Therapist; clinical affiliation in pediatrics is desirable; experience working with children in physical therapy or educational setting is highly desirable.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a current and valid license issued by the Physical Therapy Board of California to practice physical therapy. Possession of a valid California driver’s license and availability of private transportation (mileage expense allowance provided).
