Physical Security Officer Jobs

Responsibilities:

• Controlling access to spaces, ensuring authorized personnel, visitors and vendors only
• Review and approve personnel security clearance requests
• Respond promptly to security incidents and emergencies and collaborate/assist with law enforcement and emergency services
• Oversee security education and awareness training programs for all employees
• Collaborate with facilities, HR, and IT teams to integrate security into their workflows and processes
• Conduct regular patrols and deter suspicious activity while inspecting for vulnerabilities and suggest security enhancements
• Assist the Physical Security Director and overall security team with ongoing security projects, which may include gathering metrics, conducting research and providing support in the implementation of new security initiatives
• Provide support for onsite and offsite events, including access control, crowd management and asset protection, to maintain a safe and secure environment
• Assist with development and implementation of security policies and procedures
• Conduct security briefings and training with employees as needed

• Have exceptional observation and situational awareness skills to detect and respond to security incidents and threats both proactively and reactively
• Demonstrate strong Knowledge of security best practices, procedures and technologies; including access control systems, CCTV surveillance, and alarm systems.
• Are familiar with relevant laws, regulations and industry standards pertaining to physical security
• Have 10 years of physical security experience
• Have experience supporting and providing physical security for events.
• Have proven experience as a Physical Security Officer or a similar role, preferably in a corporate or technology environment
• Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, visitors, vendors and law enforcement personnel and write effective reports.
• Have the ability to perform regular security patrols and respond during emergencies

Strong candidates may also:

• Care about AI safety risk scenarios
• Have experience supporting medium or large tech companies in security other related roles such as facilities and operations support, or project management roles.

Candidates need not have:

• Formal certifications or education credentials
• 100% of the skills needed to perform the job

Annual Salary (USD)

• The expected salary range for this position is $130-270k.
