Job Summary: The PHP Web Developer will work as part of a multidisciplinary team of programmers and web designers supporting the design, creation and maintenance of web based applications and content on user friendly, vibrant, and effective web sites. The team is responsible for Upstate's public web site and develops and supports some intranet web services. The position will be primarily responsible for working on web sites that require database driven content or management. The position will analyze client requests, recommend and implement solutions to these requests. The position will also have responsibility for supporting the underlying OS and Web server technology used to deliver Upstate.edu. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Information Management, Computer Science, Computer Systems, or related field and a minimum of three (3) years related programming experience required. Demonstrated technical proficiency with UNIX, Apache, SQL, PHP web programming, Perl, HTML5, CSS, jQuery, JavaScript, Oracle and MySQL. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills required. Preferred Qualifications:

Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field and five (5) years of related experience. Familiarity with Linux, API programming, Apache+PHP web server administration, and PHP Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) is desired. Experience working with data structures to include reading, traversing, and writing XML, JSON, CSV, Excel, as well as WCAG compliance preferred. Demonstrated experience using web content management systems. Experience with Cascade CMS programming, Velocity and/or XSLTa, and version control a plus.

Work Days:

Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
