Job Description

Position Description:
USAID/Liberia Education Office seeks a mid-level consultant to provide virtual support to the team on activity, evaluation, and study designs; support procurement processes; review of materials submitted for AOR/COR approval; conduct research, synthesize information, and provide input on education topics; and draft and review documents relating to these areas. The consultant’s support will be utilized to bridge the office’s staffing gap.

Location
: Remote
Period of Performance: On or around late May or early June to November 2023.
Work Schedule: Part-time; the expected level of effort for this consultancy is approximately 30 hours per week with a maximum of 632 hours.
Salary Range: Starting at $400/day

Responsibilities:
The consultant will provide support on program design, procurement, implementation, and support to the USAID/Liberia Education Office in the following areas:
  • Draft and edit documentation for activity approval, processing change notices, and funds transfers.
  • Draft and edit documentation related to data quality assessments (DQAs).
  • Participate in sector coordination meetings. Draft, synthesize, and edit notes and lessons learned from coordination discussions.
  • Provide technical feedback to activity managers on materials submitted for AOR/COR approval.
  • Draft and edit design/procurement documentation for the new education activities.
  • Conduct basic research and gather evidence to support the Education Team’s needs for ongoing design, procurement, and implementation tasks.
  • Support the selection processes for new procurement(s).
Qualifications:
  • Understanding of the USAID Education Policy and education earmark.
  • Adept at using the Google suite of products (e.g. Docs, Slides, Sheets, Meet, etc.) and virtual collaboration.
  • Able to work independently with minimal direction.
  • A bachelor's degree in education, international development, or related area with minimum of five (5) years of experience, or a master’s degree in education, international development, or related area with minimum of three (3) years of experience.
  • Experience working on education in a high poverty and resource constrained context.
