Job Summary
The Pharmacy Technician performs duties that support the pharmacist in delivering pharmacy services. Under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist, duties include but are not limited to the processing of prescription requests stocking, administration of various patient assistance programs and the documentation of third-party reimbursements.

Experience
  • Customer service related experience working with the general public (1 year).

Credentials
  • Pharmacy Technician certification with the State of Washington.

Job Specific Functions/Performance
Responsible for answering inquiries regarding nondiscretionary and non-clinical information on prescriptions, availability and price of products, and general pharmacy information in an efficient and quality manner.
Responsible for maintaining appropriate inventory levels of pharmaceuticals and supplies. Performs inventory audits.
Under pharmacist supervision, records medical histories, bills third party insurance plans, contacts third party insurance plans for overrides or prior authorizations, generates patient prescription labels, fills prescription orders and releases prescriptions accurately and expeditiously.
Files and retrieves pharmacy records, completed prescriptions and enters drug descriptions into pharmacy computer accurately. Prints patient medical profiles, drug information sheets and other reports.
Monitors inventory for outdated, recalled or illegitimate pharmaceuticals.
Receives patient payments, answers or appropriately refers billing questions and maintains appropriate records of all financial transactions. Prepares daily bank deposit, reconcile receipts (including cash, checks and bankcard transactions) ass
