Job Description
General Description:


Equiscript is looking for a motivated individual to own and maintain the relationships between Equiscript and our current Contracted Pharmacies as well as work to create new relationships with for Pharmacy Chains and/or Independent Pharmacies. This position requires strong analytical and organizational skills, the ability to push a project forward, and excellent verbal and written skills.  The Director of Pharmacy Relations will work under the direction of the VP of Operations with frequent interaction with other departments at Equiscript.

Key Responsibilities:


You will be responsible for but not limited to:


  • Create Policies and Procedures associated with retail pharmacy relationships
  • Write and provide reports for leadership to look over the findings and recommendations
  • Works with internal departments and external vendors to ensure the validity of 340B pricing and procurement activities
  • Computer skills to use various programs needed for analysis
  • Negotiating contract terms, including dispensing fees, with assigned pharmacy chains and independents.
  • Negotiate and approve new 340B pharmacy network rates
  • Track the performance of customer/pharmacy relationships
  • Coordinate with different departmental teams to produce better business outcomes
  • Collecting and organizing information from various sources like Salesforce or applicable Equiscript application(s) that identify underperforming clients/revenue
  • Create process flow, policies, and procedures.
  • Pharmacy / Program Performance
  • Identify automation opportunities
  • 340B pharmacy provider negotiations, including specialty pharmacies, long-term care, mail-order vendors, and independent pharmacies.
  • Use statistical methods to analyze information and develop solutions to business problems such as
  • Identifying and solving problems in various fields or specialized areas such as
  • Collaborate with the product manager on roadmap planning and prioritization
  • Manage and oversee 340B Pharmacy Business Partnerships to help grow the network and promote the brand.
  • Analyze process issues and bottlenecks and make improvements
  • Champion efforts to support the professional growth of Managers, Supervisors, and Leads/Associates. Help develop the skills needed to perform optimally and sustain professional success. Assess job performance and provide regular feedback.
  • The primary point of contact with major pharmacy partners
  • Identify specific business opportunities
  • Developing an understanding of the 340B Contract Pharmacy Program to enhance the overall efficiency, value, and internal support of the program
  • Works closely with others in the Operations Team to keep compliance, inventory management, auditing, and future opportunities at the forefront.
  • Advise managers on findings and the various courses they can take to address the problem
  • Be a problem-solver, seeking to understand performance metrics across clients, share best practices throughout the organization, and consistently strive to exceed our client expectations
  • Collaborate with operational peers to remove barriers throughout the client and patient journey 
  • Accuracy of NPI lists used in operations

Preferred Experience:


  • Salesforce or other CRM technology experience is a plus
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills, both analytical and problem-solving, and the ability to work with confidential documents.
  • Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, high-intensity, deadline-oriented work environment.
  • PMP Certification
  • Apexus ACE certification
  • Self-starter, initiator, strong presentation, interpersonal and consultative skills a must.
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to perform with a high level of professionalism 
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with people of all types, including the ability to genuinely display warmth and empathy.
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree in business or health-related fields. 
  • Must have experience and proficient PC skills (Gmail, Google Apps, web-based programs, Salesforce.com experience preferred, Excel or Google Sheets)
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, with the ability to adjust to changing priorities and processes and achieve deadlines under pressure.
  • 5-7 years of 340B Program experience in healthcare and/or with a healthcare provider or pharmacy is preferred.
  • Pharmacy knowledge is a plus


Physical Requirements:


  • Requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time, occasional stooping, and reaching; May require lifting up to 25 pounds; requires normal range of vision and hearing with or without accommodations.
