Job Description
Frank CPG Partners is recruiting on behalf of a leading food manufacturing company committed to delivering high-quality food products that exceed customers expectations. We are seeking a seasoned Operations Manager to oversee and optimize production processes. This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our manufacturing facility.


Job Overview:


As the Operations Manager, you represent Operations as a strategic business partner with all departments to plan, coordinate, and supervise the production process to achieve operational excellence. You will lead a team of production supervisors and staff, working together to meet production goals, maintain product quality, and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations. Your expertise in lean manufacturing principles, process improvement, and team leadership will drive continuous improvement and innovation within the organization.


Key Responsibilities:


Production Planning and Scheduling:


  • Coordinate with other departments, such as procurement and logistics, to ensure timely delivery of raw materials and finished goods.
  • Develop and implement production plans to meet demand and optimize production efficiency.


Quality Assurance and Food Safety:


  • Ensure all food production processes comply with regulatory standards, safety guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Implement and maintain quality control measures to deliver products that consistently meet high-quality standards.


Process Optimization:


  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement lean manufacturing practices to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Regularly review production metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor performance and implement corrective actions when necessary.


Team Leadership and Development:


  • Provide strong leadership to production supervisors and staff, fostering a positive work environment and promoting teamwork.
  • Ensure operations resources are focused and aligned on accomplishing key manufacturing tasks and are accountable for making sure they understand how it relates to the business strategy.
  • Develop budgets, labor plans, and staffing
  • Conduct performance evaluations and support staff development through training and coaching.


Equipment Maintenance and Efficiency:


  • Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all production equipment is well-maintained and operating at maximum efficiency.
  • Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and production interruptions.


Health and Safety Compliance:


  • Promote a culture of safety, ensuring that all employees follow safety protocols and adhere to health and safety regulations.
  • Investigate and report any incidents or accidents, implementing corrective actions as required.


Qualifications:


  • Proven experience (10+ years) in food manufacturing operations, with at least 5 years in a managerial/supervisory role.
  • A commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards and promoting a culture of integrity.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards, quality control procedures, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FDA, USDA).
  • Proficiency in using manufacturing software and systems to track and analyze production data.
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of making data-driven decisions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and process optimization.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate across departments and work cross-functionally.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse workforce.
  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, Engineering, Business Administration, Science or a related field.
