Periop Readiness Tech / Phlebotomist

Key duties include phlebotomy and taking vitals, Medical Assistants are encouraged to apply!

• Ability to prioritize and multitask
• Knowledge and understanding of Regulatory Compliance/standards and environment of care.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: Ability to read, write and speak English in order to follow simple oral or written instructions and complete standard forms.
• License/Certifications: N/A
• Interpersonal skills necessary to perform preoperative diagnostics/direct patient care.
• Computer skills, including experience with Epic SeHR EMR.
• ECG Prep Inservice completion and sign off on competency.
• Interpersonal skills necessary to exchange information and maintain courteous relationships with patients, families, Prep Providers (both Anesthesia and Hospitalist) and Surgeons’ office staff and Maine Medical Center employees.
• Fine motor coordination sufficient to perform phlebotomy and ECG
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Critical thinking skills supporting extensive Epic chart review and order/results research.
