Performance Engineer, Advisor I

What does a successful Performance Engineer do at Fiserv?

As a Performance Quality Assurance Engineer at Fiserv, you will play a critical role in the execution of performance testing for Payment Processing Gateway. You will design, implement, and support performance testing systems and strategies to ensure the application runs smoothly under changing user loads and no bugs or errors reach the end-users. You will collaborate with senior management and technical groups globally. You will leverage your business, functional and/or technical expertise to successfully develop and execute test strategies and planning activities. You will work with multiple programs and systems on projects of moderate complexity.

What you will do:

  • Monitor test performance using Dynatrace.
  • Prepare comprehensive test reports.
  • Analyze test results to identify and address bottlenecks.
  • Stay well-informed about key business processes and rules influencing information system development and implementation.
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, including team standards, test planning, execution, debugging, metric collection, and reporting.
  • Execute tests in JMeter / BlazeMeter.
  • Design workload models to guide testing.
  • Create API Automation scripts using JMeter with features like parameterization, assertions, reusable functions, correlations, pacing, and think time.

What you will need to have:

  • Logs monitoring and Debugging support to Dev Team
  • Firm understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle and methodologies such as Agile /Scrum.
  • Awareness of Defect tracking tools software for agile teams.
  • Hands on experience testing APIs, RESTful/JSON web services.
  • Bachelor’s Degree required.
  • Test automation experience using tools such as QTP/UFT, JMeter, Selenium Web Driver, TOSCA, Cucumber BDD, Rest Assured.
  • Knowledge of testing tools, database concepts and Microsoft Office.
  • Expertise with software performance testing tools (JMeter, Blazemeter, Loadrunner)
  • 6+ years of relevant technical experience. For example, knowledge of information systems elements (hardware, software, and network) and their application to business functions/processes.
  • Experience in integration of performance Monitoring tools (Dynatrace APPdynamics, Jprofiler)

What would be great to have:

  • Payment processing for Financial Institutions, specifically for debit cards, loans and/or credit card systems (new accounts, plastics, letters, notifications, preferences, parameter controls, payments, sales, account updates, memos, rewards, fraud, statements, collections, authorizations, chargebacks/retrievals, merchants, settlement, etc.) Financial services with high-volume, large-scale processing and reporting.
  • Experience with payments applications.
  • Merchant Payment Processing experience. For example, authorizations at either point-of-sale or Card-Not-Present (eCommerce/digital), clearing & settlement systems, merchant on-boarding, merchant reporting, fraud/security analytics.
