Per Diem Registered Pharmacist

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Evaluates new orders against existing patient profiles and provides appropriate pharmaceutical care.
• Demonstrates the ability to detect, communicate and avoid drug interactions and the administration of drugs to which the patient may be allergic.
• Contacts prescribers for issue resolution.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform clinical/technical/service/administrative tasks
• Dispenses and maintains accurate records of dispensing controlled substances, tax-free alcohol and investigational new drugs.
• Dispenses prescription medication to inpatients, outpatients and employees as per departmental policies.
• Appropriately checks all work conducted by non-licensed personnel requiring direct pharmacist supervision and authorization, e.g., unit-dose cassette filling, I.V. batching.
• Ensures rational drug therapy by reviewing inpatient and outpatient medication orders prior to dispensing.

Requirements:

• Pharmacist - previous hospital experience preferred but not required
• Current New York State License and Registration as Pharmacist.
• PharmD Degree from an accredited college of pharmacy.
• English proficiency, oral and written

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $82.69 - $82.69 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
