Pediatric Clinical Dietitian Ii

The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics department of Food & Nutrition is seeking a Pediatric Clinical Dietitian II to use Nutrition Care Process to assess, evaluate, and provide Medical Nutrition Therapy and nutrition counseling for patients in program areas as assigned.

• Teach dietetic interns
• Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development appropriate to the patient’s status according to age
• Use Nutrition Care Process to assess, evaluate, and provide medical nutrition therapy and nutrition counseling for pediatric and NICU inpatients and outpatients
• Participate in multidisciplinary teams and develops nutritional components of care

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Must demonstrate experience working effectively in a diverse environment
• 3-5 years of clinical nutrition experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Demonstrated competency of patient care in pediatric and NICU populations in the inpatient and outpatient setting
• Master’s Degree in Food and Nutrition or Dietetics or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience making enteral and parenteral recommendations and selection appropriate formulas

Certifications

• Licensure by the State of Iowa is required
• Registration by the Commission on Dietetic Registration is required
