We are looking for Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for the accurate processing and reconciliation of our J&E payrolls. You will provide timely and accurate financial information while engaging in the day-to-day payroll operations. The Payroll Specialist will possess significant experience in multi-state payroll processing, the ability to multi-task within multiple services where required and work in a challenging and ever-changing environment to deliver exceptional service.

This position is responsible for the day-to-day processing of union processing. This includes check issuance of union for both weekly and monthly remittances. This individual will process multi-state unions, timely remittance filing and working with multiple legal entities. This position will also be project driven as the company migrates to electronic processing and payment methods.

The Payroll Specialist will help ensure accurate processing and recording for several unions. This includes processing and recording of all company union remittance, including but not limited to, data entry of wage increases and trade classifications.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Experience with Time and Attendance
  • Assist with union audits
  • Assist entering wage rates, trade classifications and fringe benefit changes
  • Ensure compliance with current government regulations
  • High level of confidentiality
  • Union remittance processing
  • Assist financial audits
  • Review incoming feeds for accuracy and identify any errors
  • Prepare union fringe reports for payment to trust funds ensuring funds balance to GL

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

  • 1-3 years’ experience in a multi-state union/payroll department

Preferred Education & Experience

  • High school diploma

Analytical Skills

  • Problem-solving ability
  • Ability to analyze qualitative data
  • Exceptional analytical, statistical, quantitative, and deduction skills
  • Excel

Language Skills

  • Exceptional verbal communication skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to speak Spanish is a plus
  • Ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural, multinational environment and mobilize cross-functional high-performance teams

Computer Skills

  • Working experience with ADP outsourced tax and self-service is highly recommended
  • Working knowledge in using personal computer and application software including Microsoft Word, advanced Excel and PowerPoint

  • Travel throughout assigned geography 50% or more. The team member will regularly drive up to 4-6 hours per day, and occasional air travel.

The team member is occasionally required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
