Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Patient Renal Care Technician to join our healthcare team. As a Patient Renal Care Technician, you will be responsible for providing direct care to patients with renal disorders, under the guidance and supervision of a registered nurse or physician. Your role will primarily involve assisting with dialysis treatment, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining accurate patient records. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive care to patients.
• Monitor patients' response to treatment and report any issues or concerns to the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and intravenous fluids as directed by a healthcare professional.
• Safely operate and monitor dialysis machines during treatment sessions.
• Provide emotional support and reassurance to patients undergoing dialysis.
• Assist in the setup and preparation of dialysis equipment and supplies for patient treatment.
• Manage and maintain accurate medical records and documentation of patient care activities.
• Perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Participate in ongoing professional development and training opportunities to stay informed about advancements in renal care.
• Record and report any abnormalities or changes in patient vital signs during treatment.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Proven experience working in a renal care or dialysis setting is highly desirable.
• Current certification as a Patient Renal Care Technician (PCT) or equivalent credential.
• Proficient in using electronic medical record (EMR) systems and basic computer applications.
• Current certification in basic life support (BLS) and CPR.
• Excellent knowledge of dialysis procedures, equipment, and safety guidelines.
• Strong understanding of renal disorders, treatment modalities, and patient care techniques.
• Ability to effectively communicate with patients, their families, and healthcare professionals.
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited dialysis technician program preferred.
