The Patient Care Technician is responsible for assisting in direct patient care specific to the unit assigned; assisting with patient transfers and repositioning, transporting of patients, supplies, or specimens; and any other duties as deemed necessary to ensure optimal patient care and physician service, under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse. The Patient Care Technician is responsible to the Licensed Practical Nurse, Registered Nurse, Charge Nurse, Clinical Supervisor, Department Manager/Director, Nursing Supervisor, Associate Directors of Nursing Services and the Chief Nursing Officer

Job Summary: A Patient Care Technician (PCT) is a support for nursing staff. Daily responsibilities include: vital signs, providing baths for patients, changing linens, passing meal trays, checking blood sugars, obtaining intake and output totals, assistant patients to restroom, documenting care provided in Electronic Medical Record.
Job Role Expectations: individuals passionate about caring for others though everyday basic physical needs, ability to multitask, ability to take direction, capability to remain calm in stressful situations, the aptitude to create a daily task list while remaining flexible in the task list for unexpected challenges
Qualifications:
- Experience - no experience required - On the Job training
- Education - High School Diploma/GED
- License/Certifications - Must maintain current BLS certifications (provided by Flowers Hospital)
