The Research Coordinator, in the Department of Health Services Administration and Policy in the College of Public Health, will be a key team member on a study funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and led by Dr. Ilene Hollin, Principal Investigator.
This is a grant funded position and will be paid hourly.
Essential functions: Under the direction of the Principal Investigator (PI), the research coordinator will be responsible for a variety of research activities, including preparing research protocols for the Institutional Review Board, recruitment of research subjects, data collection (both surveys and qualitative interviews) and data analysis. The research coordinator will support project implementation and be responsible for coordinating project activities, including patient and stakeholder engagement activities. The research coordinator will prepare materials for, organize and attend project meetings, and communicate effectively with project stakeholders between meetings. Effective communication with the PI, community partners, university and hospital support staff, and other researchers is also required. The research coordinator will help develop and format project deliverables such as progress reports, presentations, and papers for publication. The research coordinator may also be responsible is assisting in the supervision of student research assistants or interns. The research coordinator will help ensure that project milestones are met in accordance with project timelines. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Education & Experience:
The research coordinator will hold at least a bachelor’s degree in public health or other social or behavioral sciences and have at least 3 years' experience in a healthcare or research setting that includes interaction with patients and/or families. A master’s degree is preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a diverse stakeholder population, including patients, caregivers, and providers
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare outcomes research, patient-centered outcomes research, and/or comparative effectiveness research
- Proficient with MS Office software including database programs and virtual communication platforms (e.g., Zoom or Microsoft Teams)
- Demonstrated ability to multi-task and adhere to timelines
- Demonstrated ability to conduct literature searches and synthesize information effectively
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to manage data (e.g., data entry, data management)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Excellent organizational skills and attentive to details
- Demonstrated experience with healthcare-related research
- Experience with interviewing and/or interacting with patient populations

This is a grant funded position.
