Job Description

Due to our continued growth, our Nuclear Services Group is seeking a Part-Time Consultant for our Kennesaw, GA location or remote.

Responsibilities (including but are not limited to)

  • Provide regulatory consulting to a broad range of nuclear clients (Part 50, Part 52, Part 53, Part 70)
  • Perform independent research, reviews, studies, and analysis in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs.
  • Experience with NEI 96-07 and ability to support/review 10 CFR 50.59 applicability, screenings, and evaluations.
  • Provide regulatory expertise to develop and review documents for submittal and presentation to the NRC, other regulatory agencies, or clients, with accountability for the accuracy and completeness of these documents.
  • Experience with digital modifications including familiarity with NEI 01-01 and NRC RIS 2002-22, Supplement 1.
  • Support/review studies, conceptual design and plant modification packages for impact on the client’s licensing basis.
  • Develop relationships with current and potential client’s regulatory staff by means of regular interface to ensure client satisfaction as well as pro-active identification of further support opportunities.
  • Monitor changing regulatory trends and maintain knowledge of regulatory requirements, guidelines, practices, and industry standards.
  • Review, edit, and organize documents in the preparation of a large and complex nuclear license application, as well as, smaller technical submittals, topical reports, and white papers.
  • Experience with 10 CFR 72.48.

Required Qualifications / skills

  • Must possess knowledge and understanding of nuclear power plant design, and operations.
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites and meet NRC security and client security requirements.
  • Must be able to work productively with other staff, at all levels, in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in time constraining regulatory environment while maintaining a quality product.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering
  • Must have strong organizational and excellent written and verbal communication skills, with demonstrated competencies in technical writing, facilitation, and decision-making.
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of regulations, regulatory agencies, and the regulatory processes supporting the design and licensing of nuclear plants including the documentation that supports these processes
  • Provide direct project support as an individual contributor or team leader.
  • 10+ years of regulatory experience in the nuclear industry at either the NRC or a utility
  • Must also be able to represent ENERCON and/or clients at NRC, United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and other regulatory agencies meetings and workshops.
  • Travel may be required. Duration of travel length varies depending on project and client needs.

Employment requirement

Ability to pass pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screenings; ENERCON and client-specific background checks; and an annual motor vehicle record (MVR) according to company and client policies.

Must be legally eligible to work in the US without current or future sponsorship.
