Parts Department Manager (Aftermarket)

Full Time Salary starting between $60,000 and $70,000 plus profit incentives.

(Potential to earn over $100,000 per year with profit incentives).

Parts Department Manager Summary:

The Parts Department Manager provides leadership, guidance, and management to the Parts Sales Team. Builds and maintains working relationships with the Parts Shipping Department, Purchasing Department, Sales Department, along with internal and external partners. Reports directly to the Vice President of Sales.

Parts Department Manager Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Provide input to Marketing for development of sales materials for increasing parts sales.
  • Other projects and responsibilities may be added at the company’s discretion.
  • Responsible for issuance of credit memos and RMA’s while working with the Parts Sales Team to minimize customer returns.
  • Maintain the highest ethical standards, open and honest communication, work with integrity and treat everyone with respect.
  • Work directly with customers to develop customized parts support programs.
  • Responsible for managing parts inventory including scheduled audits.
  • Ensure all customers’ orders and inquiries are processed in a timely manner with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ensure accounts receivable are managed and collected daily to keep account balances current.
  • Assist with and support parts sales by taking and processing orders from customers.
  • Work directly with Purchasing/Sourcing departments to determine proper parts inventory levels while minimizing slow moving/obsolete/excess inventory.
  • Direct management of the Aftermarket Parts Department, including supervisory responsibilities such as hiring, terminations, performance reviews, coaching, salary planning, etc.
  • Support and provide leadership for principles of relentless continuous improvement.
  • Responsible for meeting sales budgets, and performance objectives for the department.
  • Train sales force on parts offerings to enhance overall sales.
  • Develop pricing strategy for parts. Also responsible for developing, implementing, and communicating price increases.
  • Provide leadership and day-to-day management of Parts Sales Representatives, Parts Administrator, and Warehouse Associates.
  • Manage E-commerce presence on parts website to ensure accurate information and pricing.

Parts Department Manager Required Education, Knowledge & Skills:

  • Experience with E-Commerce sales and data analysis.
  • Must be committed to a high level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Ability to multi-task with strong time management skills
  • Must be self-motivated, engaged with the team, and prepared to work as required to fulfill required duties.
  • Three years minimum of direct to customer part sales experience.
  • Must be able to work in a fast paced, dynamic environment and multi-task.
  • Bachelor’s or associate degree in business or equivalent experience.
  • Must present a professional, positive, results oriented, problem-solving attitude.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
  • Experience with ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
  • Warehouse management or supervisory experience a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem solving.
  • Must have demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and manage staff.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, be organized, and can effectively give presentations internally and to customers at all levels.

Parts Department Manager Physical Requirements:

  • Moderate lifting, walking, standing, bending, stooping, and climbing.
  • Requires long periods of sitting or standing depending on work demands.
  • General office environment with exposure to manufacturing
  • Must be able to communicate clearly.


Work Environment:

Manufacturing work environment that has frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, noise intensity level, proximity to moving mechanical parts and exposure to weather.
