Parks Attendant (P &R Attendant)

Under close supervision, summer employees of this beginning level classification have direct interaction with customers at the point of sale, greet and act as hosts to visitors, take reservations, coordinate park entry, and complete cash transactions. These employees answer questions, give directions, explain facilities, and assist higher level employees involved in the general maintenance and operations of the County Park facilities. Depending on the work assignment, Parks & Recreation Attendants may assist in the operation of a contact station at a campground, day use or dog park facility, food concessions, nature center, pro shop of a golf course or waterpark operation or support the mobile recreation unit with equipment set up, operation, and clean up at special events and programs. Must be alert to hazards and follow department safety and emergency procedures. Works weekends, evenings, and holidays. May utilize current Countywide and/or department specific software to complete assignments.
