We are working with our client Scott & Jon’s, a nationally distributed better-for-you frozen seafood brand, in seeking a Packaging Graphic Designer , to join their team in Auburn, Maine. The Packaging Graphic Designer position is a brand-new role being created as Scott & Jon’s continues to expand. This position will be primarily responsible for design and execution across a variety of areas including branding, packaging and graphic assets with a focus on food packaging.



Requirements of the Packaging Graphic Designer :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design (or equivalent).
  • Experience in the food and beverage industry strongly desired
  • Packaging and systems experience, understanding of how to realize a physical product from concept through to actualization
  • Passion for industry and design trends with a focus in food and beverage
  • Ability to travel to Auburn, ME
  • 2-4 years of design experience. A broad understanding of design strategy methods and practices is required.
  • Willingness to deliver on quick turnaround requests
  • Strong skills within Adobe Creative suite - Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Indesign and Photoshop (Aftereffects and Premiere is a plus)
  • Experience with dielines and preparing artwork for production

Responsibilities of the Packaging Graphic Designer :

  • Participating in press approvals, review printing proofs and providing quality assurance, meet with suppliers, organizing and maintain artwork/assets archive.
  • Delineating and adapting designs to transform packaging concepts into technical design files for printing
  • Collaborating with photographers to bring packaging concepts to life
  • Accommodating other interdepartmental design requests which could include creating trade show artwork, updating website graphics, contributing to social media posts, laying out advertising files, etc.
  • Building art files for print trials, comps, testing simulation, etc.
  • Ensuring that all assets adhere to brand standards
  • Designing and creating compelling graphic assets and templates to be used in PowerPoint, print marketing, and external and internal company materials
  • Creating and collaborating on package design explorations which help our products stand out at the shelf and deliver key brand messaging
