The Farmers Information Security team is responsible for defending Farmers Insurance and our customers from cybersecurity threats. This role will be a key member of the Platform Security team and will help drive security across all Platform as a Service (PaaS) resources. This includes but is not limited to the PaaS infrastructure and cloud platform security.

Essential Job Functions

• Responsible for analyzing and establishing security requirements for all PaaS resources to support business operations
• Presents fact-based, objective assessments of information security and compliance risks to management
• Communicates and creates presentations, as required, to mid-level and upper-level management, and other personnel
• Participates in architectural discussion for company technology platforms
• Collaborates with system owners and support remediation of systems and processes that are not compliant with current security best practices, policies, and standards
• Orchestrates reviews for system additions and/or enhancements
• Maintains current knowledge of industry trends and standards
• Drives automation of processes using various technologies and methodologies to increase efficiency
• Serves as liaison between the application development and information security teams to perform security testing and security risk assessment during resource migration, development, and operations
• Develops, reviews, and updates security policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines and implements best practices as it relates to on-premise, public and private PaaS resources

Education Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, or related discipline preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience Requirements

• Strong understanding of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
• Outstanding customer/client relations skills to ensure that security and business objectives are always in alignment, and a flexible and business-oriented focus on security matters
• Knowledge of managing and coordinating cloud security stacks across multiple cloud or on premises environments
• Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple high visibility issues simultaneously
• Knowledge of cloud security policy and how to use security tooling to automatically identify violations
• Knowledge of cloud technologies including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, Serverless Functions, and containers
• Ability to communicate security and compliance issues to executives, end users, and security experts in an effective and appropriate manner
• Understanding of Middleware technologies, SAP, Salesforce, Heroku, Informatica, MuleSoft
• Experience with cybersecurity frameworks and best practices
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) including development using technologies such as terraform
• Demonstrated ability to drive remediation of cloud security vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and policy violations
• Working experience and knowledge in Windows and Linux environments
