Job Description

Owner Operator Driver (Lease-On)

Skyland Hauling Company is a fast-growing company that provides transportation solutions to shippers and brokers around the country. We are looking for Owner Operators of all fleet sizes ( 18 wheeler, Hot Shot, Box Truck) to lease on and help us continue to grow and succeed in our role as a transportation provider for the industry. At this time we are currently not hiring for cargo vans.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and comfortable driving record for each vehicle.
  • Communicate with brokers or shippers as to product ETA.
  • Safely deliver products to customers in a timely manner.
  • Complete all pre-trip checks and ensure safety is maintained at all times.
  • Follow proper truck driving rules and regulations (i.e. stopping, turning, and moving around obstacles).
  • Correctly and adequately log driving hours using the provided ELD in accordance with FMCSA policies.
  • Safely drive vehicles during periods of high demand and during busy times to meet the needs of our customers.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 year driving experience (required)
  • 1 year driving a commercial vehicle (preferred)

Driver Requirements:

  • Driver must provide their own PPE
  • Must pass drug screen & random drug screens
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • Must have truck & trailer in good operating condition (Also includes box truck, dry van, 18 wheeler, etc.)
  • DOT Medical Card (required-may obtain after hire)

Note: All drivers are required to be on our insurance as per requirements by FMCSA unless sub hauling (inquire within).

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $3,000.00 - $7,000.00 per week

Supplemental pay types:

  • Detention pay
