City Experiences is seeking a Ordinary Seaman for our operation in San Francisco

About You:

This person will be adaptable, dynamic, and embody City Experiences’ RESPECT Service System.

About the Opportunity:

Hornblower Cruises & Events San Francisco is accepting applications for an Able-Bodied Seaman. Candidates must have 1 year of recent experience as an Ordinary Seaman. Our employees have public contact; therefore, we are looking for candidates who take pride in their appearance, have superb customer service, and communication skills. A flexible schedule is a must as it includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. The candidate must submit to a comprehensive background check as well as pre-employment, and random drug testing as required by the United States Coast Guard.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Participate in safety and security drills as required by WQSB, trained and prepared to operate Rescue Boats
  • Be trained and prepared to use SCBA and fire turn-outs
  • Check heads and remove trash
  • Stand wheel watches as required
  • Additional job duties assigned
  • Will work as a “Senior Deckhand” on other company vessels
  • Participate in boarding safety
  • Handle mooring lines
  • Directly supervises deckhands
  • Enforce crew and passenger safety

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • United States Coast Guard Merchant Mariner Credential with AB Special, Limited, or Unlimited rating
  • TWIC
  • USCG Ordinary Seaman license
  • 1-year recent experience as an Ordinary Seaman
  • Desired endorsements: Lifeboatman, Firefighting, STCW
  • First Aid / CPR
  • High School or equivalency
