Order Picker Jobs

Purpose: Manages hot sheet orders from warehouse management and physically pulls inventory from the shelves to ensure accurate delivery of warehouse products. Also packs orders, including shrink wrapping contents onto pallets, and loads them on trucks for delivery while ensuring orders are accurate and records of inventory are kept up to date for a smooth flow in warehouse operations.

Essential Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

• Ensures that orders are accurate.
• Operates scanners so that the proper order is picked and inventory is managed accurately.
• Adhere to all Company policies, procedures and practices.
• Shrink wraps products to pallets.
• Maintains certifications to adhere to safety requirements and complies with federal, state, and local warehousing, material handling, and shipping requirements.
• Any other duties as assigned by management.
• Ensures accurate inventory controls by categorizing merchandise by gender, brand, style, and size.
• Ensures warehouse goals are met.
• Demonstrates dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned shifts, and completing responsibilities in a timely manner.
• Ensures a safe and clean environment by maintaining safety standards, including ensuring the equipment assigned to is operating safely.
• Ensures merchandise is properly unloaded from trucks and stock is placed in the appropriate location such as the receiving area and or racking bins. Assists in verifying carton count per delivery receipt.
• Pulls warehouse items from the shelves by style number and size.

Essential Physical Requirements: (bending, reaching, and standing/walking for the entire shift)

• Ability to freely access all areas of the warehouse.
• Ability to move or handle merchandise throughout the warehouse area, generally weighing 0 - 75 pounds.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well on a Team but be Self-Motivated.
• Agrees to unannounced periodic drug testing.
• Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
• Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.

Use of Equipment:

• All equipment must only be used for the purpose in which it was intended.
• Employee is only to use equipment in which he has received a certification or license to use.
• Employee must use all required PPE. (Personal Protective Equipment).
• All equipment must be used in accordance with manufacturer guidelines

Restrictions to duties:

• No excessive lifting. Some lifting may be required, but excessive lifting is prohibited (more than 75 lbs for an extended period of time).
• If merchandise is to be moved, a dolly must be used and or electric pallet jack.
• No use of equipment without OSHA compliant standards and OSHA material handling.
