Job Description

The Oracle Developer position is onsite at a NYC government location.

Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities:

The successful candidate's core responsibilities will include, but not to be limited to:

  • Developing and implementing effective change management to assist employees with new or modified purchasing processes.
  • Recommend design changes and/or enhancements to the system.
  • Creating appropriate documentation in work assignments such as code, and technical documentation.
  • Developing insights & concepts to advance improvement in the operating environment Manage Internal Catalog workflow.
  • Performing software analysis, development, and testing
  • Working in an agile development environment.
  • Collaborating and cooperate with others to help a team or work group achieve its goal.
  • Working with other Software Engineers/Programmers
  • Participating in project planning activities by providing development, unit and integration testing time estimates for development and testing.
  • Performing hands-on software engineering for entire life cycle of development through testing.
  • Troubleshooting issues that may develop in application operating environment. Providing input to documentation (RTM, SDD, DBDD, etc…).
  • Working in accordance with the SLDC and established "coding" standards and policies for use by the developers documenting code.
  • Conferring with other programming and engineering staff in obtaining or providing factual data; and may carry out fact-finding and programming analysis.
  • Assisting with Reasonable Accommodation requests.
  • Performing release planning and the application of hotfixes.
  • Coordinating and conducting customer work sessions to gather and document requirements.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Maintain re-useable development standards that help implement each solution and/or enhancements to existing systems to meet current and future needs.
  • Develop and maintain PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, SQL statements in Oracle 12c.
  • Must have strong experience in Oracle packages, procedures, functions, analytics functions.
  • Works with Development and Design team, understand the business requirements, functional and technical specifications.
  • Preparation of development estimates and technical design documents.
  • Work with XML Processing, large objects using PL/SQL is must.
  • Performance Tuning including tuning/optimizing SQL, PL/SQL code.
  • Performs enhancements and bug fixes as required.
  • Must be able to work legally in the US.
