Job Description
What we are looking for:
Tripoint Solutions is seeking a full-spectrum Java and Back-End Developer to join our team in Rockville, MD.

The candidate will lead the operations and maintenance of a Java/J2EE based application using J2EE technologies and latest web technologies like GWT 2.0 or higher, Java Script, GWT- EXT with J2EE compliant application server. In this role, your primary responsibility will be perform operations and maintenance and regular break/fix activities related to a production system. The candidate will also be responsible for an application modernization initiative to redeploy applications in a hybrid cloud AWS environment using the most up-to-date technologies. You will work in an Agile environment and apply automation techniques with multiple teams, operating in parallel to accomplish large-scale virtual environment initiatives.

The successful candidate will be accountable to:
  • Developing highly optimized code
  • Performing analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance of large-scale and distributed applications
  • Working with a highly technical team in an Agile environment in order to provide timely, effective, and customized software solutions
  • Working alongside Scrum Masters, Business Analysts, and Developers
  • Facilitating the flow of continuous development with the integration of unit testing / testing best-practices throughout
  • Keeping up-to-date with the most recent cloud and infrastructure technologies
What you bring:
Experience, Education & Training:
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline automation tools, docker orchestration, and docker containerization (preferred)
  • Proven hands-on Software Development experience with web technologies including GWT, GXT, Servlets, JSPs, EJBs, JTA, JNDI, REST.
  • 2+ years developing in a modern cloud environment (desireable)
  • Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases, SQL and ORM technologies (JPA2, Hibernate)
  • Hands on experience in designing and developing applications using Java EE platforms.
  • Strong understanding of working with a team which implements CI/CD pipeline automation, unit / integration testing and modern development practices such as Test Driven Development
  • Experience with test-driven development
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field and 6 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate professional experience in JAVA/J2EE development positions.
  • 3+ years of experience with source control and project tracking systems (e.g. Git, Bitbucket, Jira)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • 4+ years developing with Spring and Spring Boot using REST API
  • Experience creating unit tests using JUnit; understanding of what is required to consistently achieve sufficient code coverage
  • Profound insight of Java and JEE internals (Classloading, Memory Management, Transaction management etc)
  • Excellent knowledge of database development technologies such as SQLServer, MySQL, and Oracle.
  • 5+ years developing server side applications with Java or Node.js
