Job Description
What we are looking for:
Tripoint Solutions is seeking a talented and experienced SQL and application developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of SQL and application development principles and practices. They will also be able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality results.

Candidate must be well versed with SQL scripting and stored procedures. The candidate will perform overall administration and support backup requirements on MS SQL Server databases on-prem and to the cloud using a DevSecOps Framework and Agile lifecycle process.

Location:
This position is eligible for fully remote work. Selected candidates living within a 25 miles radius of the NITAAC office will be required to come into the office once a week. The selected candidate must be currently located in, or willing to relocate to, a state supported by Tripoint Solutions corporate offices (AL, DC, FL, IL, LA, MD, MI, MN, MS, NJ, NC, PA, TN, TX, or VA).

The successful candidate will be accountable to:
  • Work with other developers to perform root cause analysis related to application issues reported by the user community.
  • Understand how a business system interacts with the database to perform advanced troubleshooting.
  • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
  • Understand the application database architecture (SQL, Stored Procedures, Functions)
  • Ensure all scheduled jobs such as backups, ETL loads and other items have executed correctly
  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot SQL-based applications.
  • Work with database administrators to manage the database
  • Assist other members of the Database Systems team and Developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time, providing problem resolution end-to-end
  • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
  • Perform data analysis and reporting
  • Create new and modify existing stored procedures / scripts in support of application operations and maintenance
  • Audit, evaluate and understand existing stored procedures and database scripts to support the application and ongoing enhancements
What you bring:
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to all levels
  • Good communication skills both written and oral
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or commensurate experience in lieu of degree
  • Understanding of MySQL, Postgres and other database platforms a plus
  • 3+ years creating, modifying and implementing database stored procedures and scripts
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organization skills and calm under pressure
  • 3+ years of experience working on an application development team
  • Position requires strong business/technical verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience managing development, test, and production environments
  • Must be a team player, process-driven, self-motivated, and able to work independently to meet deadline
  • Strong interpersonal skills and mature judgment
  • Ability to adapt to sudden change in priorities and requirements
  • Strong understanding of MS SQL
Clearance Requirements:
