Job Description
Graystone Eye is looking for an individual who is willing to serve our patients with one vision in mind: Achieving Exemplary Exemplary Clinical Outcomes & Providing an Unparalleled Experience for Patients, Employees, and Families JOB SUMMARY This individual fills ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions and fits and adapts lenses and frames by performing the duties detailed below. RESPONSIBILITIES: Proficient with Lensometry for lens inspection, and when necessary, using lensometer or lens analyzer and client's eyeglasses to determine prescription Proficient with identification of Prism Reconciling Medicaid Orders Mailing postcards for old Medicaid jobs Checking patient balances in EPM Creating communications in Optik and EHR Documenting problems with glasses in Optik and EHR Navigate and review orders from Optik Receiving orders in Optik, Adding jobs to Phonetree and Recall list Filing glasses after inspection Filing invoices based on account numbers Receiving in frame inventory Processing frame returns Filing away frame cases Placing new and remake glasses orders in Optik Creating trays for new glasses/orders Checking "orders received but not dispensed" report regularly Monthly check of old jobs not dispensed Reconciling and restocking of frames not picked up after 30 days Assisting Inventory Coordinator as needed Stacks, straightens, and cleans frame boards as necessary. Under supervision, prepares work order and instructions for grinding lenses and fabricating eyeglasses. Under supervision, verifies finished lenses are ground to specification. Under supervision, heats, shapes, or bends plastic or metal frames to adjust eyeglasses to fit client. Repairs damaged frames as well as screws, nose pads and temple pins. Performs hinge repairs and holders. Other duties as assigned. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units or measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. REASONING ABILITIES
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions.
  • Optical-related experience preferred ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • High School education
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
