The Role
Resolves routine trouble tickets. Strong working knowledge and experience in Ethernet and IP Layer 1 and 2, communications (IPv4, IPv6, routing protocols). Technical knowledge and experience on contemporary technologies (e.g. MPLS, TDM, Ethernet, eLAN-eLine, TCP/IP, BGP, QoS, IP, etc.). Proactively monitor and respond to and resolve network alarms and customer opening tickets for issues with circuits. Perform circuit and equipment/network restoration, recognize potential jeopardy conditions and notify management and Program Office with risk potential and impact assessments. Management of circuits Ethernet & IP), perform testing as well. Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent education and relevant experience.
The Main Responsibilities
- Resolves routine trouble tickets.
- Monitors network operations and resolves routine network monitoring problems.
- Conducts routine monitoring equipment installation and maintenance activities
- Works on relatively straightforward installation and/or maintenance assignments on network switching equipment.
- Monitors network performance
